Pennies From Heaven |
August 20, 2011 |
Some weeks ago Levity asked me if I would mind doing a demo at a Relay for Life event at our local community park. I said sure, even though I didn't have the foggiest idea what it was about. I was going to do a demo at 12:30 and Roberta at 5:00. Yesterday, I finally decided I better get a play list together and to google Relay for Life to see what I should expect.
WOW! I had no idea it's an event sponsored by, that raises money for, The American Cancer Society. The event was scheduled for today, August 20. The day my mother would have turned 76, if she hadn't died from throat cancer in '95 at the age of 59. How's that for a Penny from Heaven?!
I was so honored to be able to contribute in some way to fighting cancer on my mother's birthday!
So the other thing I didn't know was that I should have brought a group of Zumbalero's with me! Luckily, Roberta came to support me as did Josie.
It was the first Relay for Life in Clayton and they hope to do it bigger next year. So now I know and I'll be looking to all my Zumba buddies to come out and make it memorable!

Me and Roberta. Thank you SO much for your support! By the way, Roberta and I have lost a combined 90 pounds because of our love for Zumba!

And Josie, my love, thank YOU for supporting!

And Happy Birthday to my beautiful Mommy. I miss you so much.

Natural High |
August 18, 2011 |
I had the time of my life.....seriously! Tonight's class at Sanctuary was so much fun for me and unless the folks in the class should be nominated for Oscars, they had fun, too. Just before I went to teach tonight, I met with the owner of Clayton Valley Dance Academy to talk about me doing Zumba classes there. There has been some interest, so we're adding two classes starting September 9. I am so jazzed and on a 'Natural High' (well, the gin and tonics help a little, too). Oh happy day! La, la, la, la, la....
So now I'm teaching seven classes a week! Here's a link to my schedule from my Zumba Con Sabor Site.
And here are some links to the music that I'm thinking about...Natural High, Time of My Life. Wepa!
I also stopped in to the tail end of Roberta's class at Levity and her groupie was there as were a few other people. It's picking up! Love it! |

Seinfeld |
August 18, 2011 |
Do you remember that Seinfeld episode where he wakes up in the middle of the night and jots an idea down then spends the whole episode trying to figure out what the heck he wrote? I'm having that kind of an episode at the moment. I jotted the following down as blogs subjects:
Philippines. OK, Motsy's trip. He just got back from the Philippines. Do you know that every time I type Philippines, it changes spelling? I swear. Just like the light switches always change places. Anyway, they posted SO many amazing photos. You can check them out at Trust Your Struggle's Facebook page. Hopefully, he'll get some posted on his website: http://www.miguelbounceperez.com/ or Flickr page. AMAZING photos!

Reunions. My grade school peeps came over for a FUN visit as did the Walnut Country Preschool Playgroup peeps! Bunch of dang good looking 53 year olds, eh? I posted a bunch more pictures on my Phanfare site.

And then here are the girls from when our kids were in Walnut Country Preschool, 10 years later!

Honey Bunch. I don't have the foggiest idea what I was going to say about my Honey Bunch. He's probably glad. He found my profile on Zumba dot com and said he didn't think he wanted to be known as Honey Bunch. LOL. Everyone knows him as Honey Bunch. Am I right? I guess if you google: zumba near clayton, ca, you come up with my profile. Nice.
Dinner. Haven't got the foggiest idea.
Clorox. Hmmm. I think I was going to talk about the cleaning lady I once had who was allergic to Clorox. But I don't remember why.
Boogers. I think I was going to say that boogers gag me. Hearing me blow my nose is interesting, to say the least and if I catch a glimpse of them in the tissue, FUGGET ABOUT IT. Let the dry heaving begin. Again, I have no idea WHY I was going to talk about the boogers making me gag.
Music. Haven't got a clue.
The moral (morale?) of this post is, at my advanced age, I should look at my notes sooner than a week after I write them. |

Resuscitate |
August 11, 2011 |
My very funny friend, Shelly (aka That Girls Blogs 2011), posted this article over on Facebook. How to Kill Your Blog in 10 East Steps. After reading that, I figured this blog was 6 feet under for sure. She said her's was in Code Blue (I think not!).
Anyway, I know that I still haven't done the things I've said I was going to do like make a real comments section and...and...and...what else did I say I was going to do? I'll still get around to spiffing it up someday. It's just that it's been so busy around here. The Zumba greats, Mia and Alex, are on vacation so the rest of us subbing stiffs, are really busy! In a good way.
So here we go, resuscitating this blog...
As usual, my feeble mind fails me so I have to see what's on my camera to see what I've been doing lately. BRB.
Here's a good one. I am a fan of The Real Housewives of Everything (NY, NJ, ATL, OC, DC, BH). My friend sent me this picture of her and one of the Housewives of the OC.

Then she followed it up by sending me the t-shirt right off of Fernanda's back! LOL! By the way, Fernanda is gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that... And according to the last episode she was in, she's single. So if you're looking for a gorgeous Brazilian who plays on that team, it's your lucky day.
My Honey Bunch and I like to spend time at the local Saloon and people watch. A bridal shower passed through one evening. Quite entertaining.

My friend from Spain had a couple of girls over for Paella. YUM!

Couldn't wait to dig in!
The construction in the White Room is moving along. Snails pace, but moving. My Honey Bunch is so talented. Look at the window frames he built and installed!
There will be updates on the Zumba and Kittenie page...but probably not until after I get back from teaching my 5:30 Zumba Class.
I'll leave you with this. Yes. It is a picture of a roll of toilet paper. I don't know what's funnier, that I was so amused by this, or what the people were thinking that saw me taking the picture. I felt so bad for the poor folks who couldn't find their TP, whatever their reasoning might have been for dropping it on Clayton Road.

Yes, I am easily amused. Why do you ask? |

My name is Rosy, Chacha, Meez, Mama, Mother...take your pick.
My loves are my Honey Bunch, my children, my family, friends and Zumba. My Zumba site:
One of my favorite sites and one I'll be stealing...um...borrowing ideas from. (Hmmm. I already see my Nerd font is similar to hers. Hers is Edwardian Script and Mine is Beautiful ES.)

This blogger introduced me to the above blogger and to the blogging bug in general. Love her!

The website of a very talented artist who happens to be my son.

This is the website of a fellow Zumba enthusiast, Jessie Amato. Great site AND, she's been to my dad's hometown, Oxkutzcab, Yucatan, Mexico.

Another Zumba enthusiast and talented artist, Yuyi Morales.

This is my nieces blog. She's cute: http://temptationofliving.tumblr.com/rosystraka.com needs a facelift and makeover. I'll be working on that, too.
