Bird Face

March 20, 2015

Emely thinks I make this face all the time. (From the Lion King.)

Bird Face

Emely has a point.

And yes, I know I look like Cruella Deville. My sweet hairdresser is out for a bit. Both knees replaced!

Shoe Obsession?

March 19, 2015

So, Facebook ads. They kind of work. Last week, this ad showed up on my feed:

So I immediately hippy hopped over to Nordstrom dot com to purchase them. They were $398. So I passed.

But Facebook and Nordstrom wouldn't leave well enough alone. They kept putting the shoes in my feed! Then, I saw this ad:

50% OFF! Woot, woot! So I hippy hopped back over to Nordstrom dot com. Alas, only the red ones were 50% off. Big sigh...

BUT THEN...I noticed the color of my beloved shoe was 'Penny'!!!! I thought, that's definitely a and all my pennies and all, right?

Then I thought, "Well, I'll just head over to Nordstrom and look at them in real life and try them on and see if they are as fabulous as in the picture and ask when they will be 50% off."

I didn't make it to Nordy's today. I did, however, make it to my closet and counted my wedges, two pair of which I've never worn. There are probably three more pair in the rack not pictured. (And, no, my Little Honey Bunch did not organize this for me. I can be organized. Sometimes. Maybe twice. Ever.)

So sixteen pair of wedges.

Friends, can I really justify beautiful, Penny colored, $398 wedges when there are so many hungry people in the world, so much homelessness, wars, people fighting cancer, friends losing loved ones... GAH! Now I'm depressed. And maybe a little crazy. And I haven't even had an alcoholic beverage today. Yet.

Stay tuned...

Straka Dance Studio Progress

March 16, 2015

So we've been busy the last couple of weekends with Dance Competitions and what not. This past weekend, my Little Honey Bunch managed to fit in painting the ceiling. He has an actual detailed to do list but basically, he's painting first, then putting in the floors, then building the moulding, baseboards and window frames. I was very leery of his scaffolding but since his motto is 'safety first'. He braced the double decker scaffolding with the triangles on either side and the steel X brace AND he added safety rails. Yup, safety first!

He worked it around the room.

And finished up the ceiling. Now on to the walls!

Turning Over a New Shamrock

March 3, 2015

I don't what that means, "Turning Over a New Shamrock." It just sounded like an appropriate thing to say. So, same old, same old around here. Zumba, coughing, Dance Competitions, more Zumba, more coughing. Natalie's Dance Academy competed in the Dupree Dance Competition last weekend.

She had a solo on Friday night. I followed the rules and didn't take pictures because they consequence was disqualification. So, I'll have to wait for Dupree to post the Competition photos. I will share a few I did take. She got a 2nd place and a 1st place for her solo.

My Little Honey Bunch and I watched the planes for a while on Saturday morning. Beautiful day looking back at the San Mateo bridge.

The girls right before their 'Green' number. Katherine, Kristin, Skylar and Straka. Hmmm. They all have K's in their names.

Natalie said this was her favorite costume.

Then they got goofy.

Dupree San Francisco

And even goofier.

We had to take a break to eat and they had this at the Hyatt! A burger with bacon, cheese and a fried egg! YUM!

I fogot to take a picture of Kristin and Natalie in their pointe number.

Dupree San Francisco

Micaela, Nat and Daniela in their tap number. They got Platinum (2nd) for it.

The girls have another competition this weekend! I hope to get pictures of the actual dancing!
