Lucky Girl

August 23, 2016

Wow, I just realized I haven't posted anything here for a month! Not for lack of stuff happening, maybe because of stuff happening. I guess I'm just the luckiest girl to have beautiful family, friends and activities that I love! I've been to the Zumba Convention (will post in Zumba page), I've been to a bunch of JAM Sessions, Motsy's art show, the Rib Cook off in Downtown Clayton, Bocce Ball. I am blessed. Or my angels watch over me closely!

Here's one example. I noticed on Sunday that one of the diamonds from my band was missing. (Oh dang...I need to restart my Rodan + Fields Hand Regimen!)

Inexplicably, I wasn't devastated. My Little Honey Bunch said, "That's worse than a needle in a haystack. You'll never find it."

I did look. I looked around the carpet on my side of the bed, sweeping with my hands to see if I could feel anything. I even checked the hot tub as we were out there soaking on Saturday night.

Then, Monday morning I stepped out of the shower, started drying my legs and low and behold...there on the fuzzy carpet at my feet, was the diamond! Doubly lucky was that this is cleaning lady day. It would have been vacuumed up later in the day.

Thank you, Angels for watching out for me!

Speaking of Angels, on Saturday, August 20, my Mom's birthday, I was heading out to the cemetery and guess what was parked on Piedmont Ave? Yup, the car my brother used to drive. Hello, Nene!

Then I ran into Zumba Eddie at the cemetery. His baby is buried there.

After I visited my mom and brothers for a bit, I headed over to Studio Grand where Mot's art worked is featured (until October 10, I believe). That's his stuff in the background. He also silk-screened his T-shirt titled 'Sideshow'.

Motsy and Rosy

The curator took this picture for Studio Grand's Instagram page.

Robert Trujillo, Motsy's childhood friend and fellow artist was there with his latest book.

Several artists were selling their beautiful work.

As I was heading back to my car, I saw this planter. Someone had spray painted it but the plant got in the way. Lolo used to do this so this cracked me up. Filipino ingenuity. Hello, Lolo!

OK, off to finish up the Carnitas I started this morning in the crockpot. Recipe to come to EATS PAGE soon...if it's a keeper!
