Coldest, Rainiest May Ever

June 15, 2019

So now that it's the middle of June, I guess I'll finally add May events. But let me first point out that from our porch, we have a view of the Carquinez Strait. Yup, that little sliver of silver to the left of the house. Bay View!

Aside from Zumba, hanging with friends, lunches and dinners with friends, practicing Aqua classes with friends, the main events were Natalie's last performance at Chico, with the Expressions Dance Team and her 'fake' graduation.

We arrived in Chico on May 11 and I was struck by this scene we've become accustomed to. A lazy Saturday afternoon in Chico. We're going to miss Nat's college life!

This Wildcat is a new installation.

I didn't get any good pictures of the performance but here's our little dancer.

Chico Expressions

Here's another one.

We went to Crush (yum!) for dinner, Madison Bear Garden, the Chico Expressions after party (below), then another bar. Poor livers. Thank goodness for Uber!

Then we had a lovely Mother's Day Brunch at Beatnik's. More yum.

OK, see you next week for Graduation!

Oh and I saw this on the way home. Motsy helped design it. Advertising for the new Fairfield location.

Oh and he came to visit me on Mother's Day.

Nat and Alex were at a wedding when we arrived back in Chico on Saturday, May 18 for an EARLY Sunday morning Graduation Ceremony. So we had us a little Date Night, watching the game at the Pour House.

Pour House Chico

Rain was forecast for Sunday so we came prepared...or so we thought. It was raining on and off. A lot of people had umbrellas's but a lot didn't. We never knew where Nat was sitting or what order she would be in. They finally called her name about 3/4 of the way through the kids. I didn't catch the name, but I caught her walking back to her seat. She's got the teal lined cap.

They had asked everyone to remain seated until all the student's name's had been called but then this happened -- pouring down rain, and everyone started running for cover, including us. I don't even know what happened to the rest of the kids who still hadn't walked.

Nat had run for cover and we found her in the Yolo building.

Chico Graduation

Lina and Alex came for the graduation. Motsy didn't make it.

Chico Graduation

Headed to Beatnik's again for brunch after. My two daughters.

Chico Grad

So I say she 'fake' graduated because she has a couple more classes to take before she receives her degree. That will be in the fall. No coming home for this one any time soon!

I didn't take many pictures. What I have above is about it. But she did have a friend take some Graduation pictures. Here are a few.

This is my nieces blog. She's cute: needs a facelift and makeover. I'll be working on that, too.
