June 2020

More Straka Family Vacation Curse

But first, I can never get enough of sitting on the porch with my Little Honey Bunch, watching the sunset and our little sliver of Bay View (header picture). So yeah, it's actually the middle of July. Taxes are due tomorrow. My Little Honey Bunch did his usual photo finish and did them yesterday.

June is more of the same. Sheltering in Place, teaching on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. I took two weeks off, though, because my other knee started killing me. I'm sure it was the hard floor that sits on a concrete slab. A little too late, I purchased an exercise floor. Although I had to do almost 2 weeks of classes from a chair, I'm almost back to 100%. Yesterday, (July 13), I taught standing the whole time! I do have to set up the floor and put it away each time. You know, because of the pisser.

Lots of Black Lives Matter happenings. Two protests in Clayton because law enforcement and the racists who hang out at the sandwich shop, ruined the first one. I'm too exhausted and disappointed to talk about it. People I thought were good and caring people, have shown their true colors. Rest in Peace, George Floyd and the countless others.

George Floyd

If only...

Molly Mac turned 21 and since she couldn't go to a bar, we had a little get together. Everyone was careful and no one got infected!

Molly's 21st

Mia moved to Florida (wahhhh) but Zelia and I visited in Half Moon Bay.

I finally got to see Patty and get my hair colored. The gray was not working on me!

Sunsets, yummy food, beautiful flowers in the garden. This is how I'm spending SIP. It's a good thing my Little Honey Bunch and I like each other.

A while back, we told Lina she could have Sharky, the 5th wheel trailer. She finally found a home for him. We asked if she wanted to use Big (our pickup) to move it. She said they had a truck to move it with. Well, I wasn't expecting that! That's some truck!!

Sharky and Big Big

Good bye, Sharky! Sniff, sniff.

So back to the Straka Family Vacation Curse. It's all documented on my Instagram starting here, relaxing after setting up camp.

Then the thunder lightning and hail.

Sitting in the tent waiting for it to let up.

We ate in the Jeep, watching the lightning show. Put our clothes bags in the Jeep and slept on the lake that had accumulated in the tent.

And, there was a Dookey Monster.

It was a fun trip, though, with the Russells, Fitzsimmons and Lujans. My Little Honey Bunch called me a good sport.

More pictures posted in my 365 Dailies. And in Dropbox (not like a billion).
