Queen LaChacha

So, Queen Latifah has a new show called The Equalizer. My Little Honey Bunch and I started watching it. So far, we like it. In some of the shots, she has these fabulous, juicy, bouncy curls. I said to my Little Honey Bunch, "I wonder if I can make my hair do that?"

Queen Latifah

Queen LaChacha Take One. I had just washed my hair so it was a little damp. Perfect for pin curling. I don't own any hot curling or straightening apparatuses. So, yeah. Pin curling with bobby pins. Sorry about the scary face with no eyes or lips. I got lazy and didn't do the back.

Pin Curl

So it worked, except I had big bouncy curls in the front and the back was my regular old inconsistent curls. Picture in the header is the same day.

Pin Curls

Queen LaChacha Take Two. So, the next time I washed my hair, I decided to try again. This time, doing my whole head.

Pin Curls

I even put on a Do Rag so they wouldn't come out while I slept.

Pin Curls

I took out the bobby pins and it looked promising.

Pin Curls

I took a pick to them and realized I should have used less hair in each curl. They were kind of big and more straightened my hair then what I wanted. But it was cool. Nice uniform curls.

Pin Curls

The shrinkage is real though!

Then, I taught my class. And the sweat and so forth boinged it back to it's natural habitat.

Pin Curls

I'm determined to get those Latifah curls so for Take Three, I think I'll 1) make them smaller - must buy more bobby pins and 2) try something like - flashback - Dippety Doo. Do they still make that stuff? I remember commercials for that, probably in the 60's. My Little Honey Bunch thought that stuff was for people with straight hair. Anyway, SOMETHING oughta work so that they last for more than 5 minutes, eh? Back to Rosy hair for now.

Pin Curls

Ahhhhh, the silly things you have time for during quarantine. My sister told me the cemetery was open again for plot holders so I'm off to Oakland to visit my family.
